NIGERIAN NATIONAL LEGACY AWARDS – NNLA.

The Nigerian National Legacy Awards is a highly respected, revered and prestigious honour recognizing and celebrating the landmark achievements of deserving individuals and organisations. The awards is conferred on the basis of merit.

The philosophy behind the establishment of Nigerian National Legacy Award (NNLA) is that the sustained promotion of merit based on excellence holds the key to continuous innovations and inventions by the people, towards economic progress and for the advancement of humankind.

Founded in 2010, our awards celebrate and recognize the incredible achievements of individuals who through their outstanding community spirit and dedication to nation building have made significant contribution to the Nigerian State.The awards capture the best of what we aspire to as a nation.

Criteria For Award Selection

In choosing the recipients of the Nigeria National Legacy Awards, regard is given to the nominee’s achievements in the year immediately prior to receiving the award as well as their past achievements and ongoing contribution to Nigeria.

The Nigerian people want to see the NNLA  recognize Individuals/Organizations  changing lives and the country  for the better,Individuals/Organizations whose challenges and triumphs are manifested in their life experience and personal journey beyond their career/business achievements, a person/organization who has taken risks, done the hard yards and been a pioneer that has had a positive impact on a wide range of people’s lives. The Award should ideally bring focus to the area of work the individual/Organization has achieved in for been recognized.

An individual/Organization need only be nominated once to be considered. The number of nominations received per nominee bears no weight in their selection.

The Real Estate Industry Prize for Excellence (Special Focus on Nigeria's Real Estate Industry )

The Nigerian real estate industry is fast moving and changing. The drive and determination harnessed by leading realtors and companies deserve to be singled out and recognized. Recognizing this astute contribution of these select few individuals is Nigerian National Legacy Awards’ way to motivate them as motivation is key to growth, and recognition spurs people to do more.

Engr Chuka David Eze is a public speaker and the MD of Frazimex Engineering Limited. He bagged a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering in 1995 where he emerged as overall best student in Electrical Engineering. With very vast and prolific experience in the Oil and Gas Industry , he is a master at Project Planning, Project Engineering , Onshore Operations and many other Skills too numerous to mention. He Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng.), from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.; Best Electrical Engineering graduating student 1995 session.   He has over 27 years hands-on post graduate experience (locally and Internationally) spanning across Project Management, Procurement, Construction, Engineering, Business Development, Operations & Maintenance, and Executive Management. Frazimex under his watch have witnessed tremendous growth in the oil and gas industry. Incorporated in 2005 under the laws of the Federal republic of Nigeria as a private limited liability company that pools the expertise of very experienced engineers and technicians to provide valuable services in then oil and gas industry.

Engr Magnus Agara is the MD of Nymagx Energy Services Limited and founder of Magnus Agara Foundation. A foundation focused on providing basic health care and free qualitative education to under privileged and vulnerable children in Nigeria. Magnus Agara's passion to helping the needy gave birth to the building of healthy and educated Nigerian. He provides basic health and free education to the poorest of the poor in the society through grants and scholarships. His foundation rehabilitates abandoned children by providing basic health care and free education which is accessible to all irrespective of status to ensure that abused and under privileged children are in good health and mentally focused on their career path.

Engr Uzezi Ogbaide is the Chairman of Zez Nigeria Limited. He is a graduate of Accountancy from the Prestigious Ambrose Ali University. He hails from Ofagbe community of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State. His firm Zez Nigeria Limited is an esteemed technical support services provider in the Nigerian oil & gas industry. Zez provides customized solutions in procurement processes and operations.  Headquartered in Lagos Nigeria, with operational offices in Port Harcourt and Warri. ZEZ is an in and out support  services provider which deliver procurement and after-procurement services. They supply, install and maintain with end to end management of the process and operations.

Alh.Munir Ibrahim Lawal is the Chairman of Limo Associates Nigeria Limited which was registered in 2002 whose core mission is to build structures with enduring value and the potential to become timeless. Their team of creative professionals carefully evaluate each project in order to adhere to both financial and time constraints, and over the years they have become known as a Leading Real Estate and construction consultancy firm in Nigeria.

Mr Harry Ebohon is the Managing Director of Propetrol Limited. A company which under the guidance of him have distinguished itself in the Nigerian bunkers market, as a pioneer company fuelling growth through innovation. Perceptive, judicious and resolute, Ebohon has shown enough to indicate that his vision of guiding Propetrol towards being the leading energy provider in Africa is on course. Ebohon has grown the company from scratch to become one of the top indigenous businesses operating in the downstream sector of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, with a reputation for quality products at competitive prices, reliability, and strict adherence to global safety standards. Propetrol was birthed in 2002 as a haulage company providing services for oil majors like Total, Oando and Mobil. It went through a series of expansions before venturing into the bunkers market in 2013. The Edo State-born entrepreneur, who earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Benin, has instilled a culture of professionalism and integrity in his team.
Mr Harry Ebohon

Captain (Dr.) Idahosa Wells Okunbo (JP) was born on January 7th, 1940 in Benin City, Oredo local government area of Edo State, Nigeria to the family of a clergy, Rev. Robert Amos Okunbo. Popularly known as Hosa Okunba, he became a pilot at 21 and at 30, had logged in 7,500 hours of flying time as a commercial jet plane pilot. Many years later, he ventured into agriculture where his company, Well Farm Limited, has invested millions of dollars in green house farming and agro-allied business in Edo State. Okunbo attended basic school at Government Primary in Benin City, Edo State. In 1971, he enrolled at the Federal Government College, Warri, Delta State where he earned his Senior School Certificate. He became a commercial pilot at 21 after graduating from Nigerian Civil Aviation Training Centre, Zaria, Kaduna State. In 1983, he obtained an Airline Transport Pilot License from the ACME School of Aeronautics in Fort Worth Texas, USA.
Captain (Dr.) Idahosa Wells Okunbo (JP)
Dr Adewunmi Rowland is a seasoned engineer and a serial entrepreneur. He is the MD/CEO, Zephyrgold Group.He started his career as an executive engineer with Siraj Consulting Engineers in Abuja in 1999, before proceeding for further studies in the United Kingdom. He has been a project engineer of various engineering (and GIS) projects. He has a career spanning over 20 years in engineering projects . He has managed many major multidisiplinary engineering portfolio. Known for his massive contribution to community development , Dr Adewunmi in 2019 donated a 20,000 litre capacity automated solar powered boreholes to the people of Olla Community in Isin Local Government Area of of Kwara State.

Mr Valentine Ugbeide is the MD/CEO of Gremoore Limited, an Oil servicing company. A graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the Prestigious University of Benin. His high level of professionalism is the energy sector is very visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. With over 20 years in the Nigerian energy Sector, he has successfully carved a niche for himself in the Nigeria energy industry.  With strategic partnership across borders, Gremoore – a leading engineering, procurement, construction and project management company in the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry, has over the years achieved a track record of unwavering excellence in the execution of projects and providing bespoke solutions to its various clients.

Mr Vicent Brown Molokwu is the President NiGSA Energy. He is a Development-Entrepreneur with Finance and Banking background. He is a researcher in the oil and gas industry and an expert in new venture, creation. His personality and capabilities are dynamic, result-oriented. He has extreme leadership qualities. He Championed the launch of Entrepreneurs’ Organisation in West Africa and he is a Board member:- Mentor-ship Chair and Global Student Entrepreneurs Award and also the Chairperson of the Nigerian Chapter.

Chikwe Edoziem is the Vice Chairman of Ikonic Energy. A professional with over forty years in the oil and gas industry. He was elected to the board of directors of Mobil Producing Nigeria. He joined the company's leadership council in 2007 and thereafter retired from Exon Mobil in 2015 after serving as the executive director and general manager (ESSO & MPN) Exploration. He holds a Bsc in geology from the University of Ibadan.

Rex Mafiana is the CEO of FPG technologies & Solutions Limited. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership while developing and deploying new technological advancements in the Nigerian Information Technology Sector. His unique level of understanding and commitment to leadership has not only built FPG Technologies & Solution Limited to becomes Nigeria’s foremost IT company today but shaped the industry it serves. From the private sector to public sector, using exceptional technical leadership and thought partnership, he has been able to demonstrate that indigenous IT firms in Nigeria can deploy world class IT solutions in the country. Mr Rex is an indigene of Ubulu Okiti of Delta State. He is popularly known to be a strategist and a source of inspiration to many.

Mr Anthony Osuagwu is the brain box behind the reputable engineering giant , Calaya Engineering Services Africa. He attended the federal polytechnic, Bauchi where he obtained a degree in electrical/electronic engineering. His firm Calaya Engineering Services Ltd is an engineering service provider company for the oil & gas, including the power sector. It has its headquarters in Nigeria , with branches in Equatorial Guinea , Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana and Tanzania.

Chief Olufemi T. Olagbende has been an executive director at Network Exploration & Production from inception until April 2016 when he became the Managing Director of the company. He studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and obtained B. Sc Honours Chemistry (1969). He studied Chemical Engineering at the University College Swansea, Wales and obtained the postgraduate Diploma in Chemical Engineering (1971) and later an MSc. in Advanced Chemical Engineering from the University of Technology, Loughborough, England (1972). He later was awarded a PhD scholarship by the Nigerian Government which he did not utilise. He has attended several professional and technical training in Nigeria, Europe and the USA. He has extensive experience in Drilling, Completions, Workover, Production Operations, Facilities Engineering as well as Environmental Health and Safety with nearly three decades of professional working experience at ExxonMobil both in Nigeria and Overseas from where he retired voluntarily in 2000. He has served as Chairman Oil Industry Environment and Safety Committee from 1998 to 2000. Prior to becoming Managing Director at Network Exploration & Production, he served as Executive Director responsible for Facilities Development, Operations, Drilling, Regulatory and Community Affairs from 2004 – 2016.

Dr Stefano Piotti is a Nigerian-Italian with over 35 years of experience in the Contracting, Energy, Oil & Gas and Power Industry sector, dealing with multi-million dollars EPC turn-key projects, products and services. With international exposure in Europe, Africa and Middle East, he gained consolidated experience in project management and execution, commercial tactics, business positioning and strategy planning. Stefano Piotti is a recipient of SHELL PETROLEUM PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE AWARD 2016 He started as a site project staff in FOCHI GROUP in Iraq, moved quickly into managerial positions in operations and in sales and business development and promoted as Branch Manager at 27 years old. He. He was formerly Regional Manager Middle East And Nigeria for ABB, MD and Executive Technical Director in ALCON Nigeria, Vice President Business development And Marketing in Greenville and CEO (Consultant) Lee Engineering before starting Stephano Integrated Service Limited. He is hardworking, highly motivated, performance driven, creative, a strategic planner, highly ethical; leading with energy and determination while directing his team. He possesses an MBA from Yorkers International University, PhD in Peace Studies and Program and the recipient of several awards in Charity, Humanitarian Services, Excellence and Leadership notable of which is the 2016 winner, worldwide, of the Shell Performance Excellence Award for the work done in successful execution of gas projects in Nigeria. His other passion is arts and entertainment, of which he has promoted several talent hunts, pageants and other projects including a fashion house and a Nollywood Movie. These, he uses in gainfully engaging and developing youths in Nigeria.

Mr Chiori Peter Cole is the Managing Director of Ocean Glory Commodities Limited and one of the successful entrepreneurs in the maritime sector. He attended Lagos State University (LASU) from 2002-2006 where he bagged Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration. His entrepreneurial legacies are worthy to be emulated in this present generation where youth unemployment is at geometrical progression in Nigeria. Chiori Peter Cole over the years have been able to create entrepreneurial niche for himself. He remains a man full of humility and responsibility in discharging his managerial duties. His business is diversified into different services ; Maritime,Logistics,Shipping,Ports,Freight,export,International trade,Transportation,Container,Import,Supply Chain Management,Inspection,Entertainment,Maritime Operations, International Logistics, International Shipping, Business Strategy, Freight Forwarding and Business Intelligence.

Mr Andrea Geday is a founder and partner of ETIWA. He is also the Managing Director of EL-ALAN Construction Nigeria Ltd. He has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry. Prior to joining EL-ALAN, he was Operations Manager, Project Manager and Site Supervisor at NICOHO Limited. Mr. Geday is also a Director of VACC Technical Limited, Soft Solutions Nigeria Limited, Panther Investments Nigeria Limited, Provast Limited and Alan Caray Limited. He graduated from Nottingham University, England (1979) with a BSc in Production Engineering and also holds an MSc in Construction Management from the University of Loughborough, England.

Mr Patrick Uduma is a human capacity development expert. A visionary leader who has overtime demonstrated a strong sense of leadership in building men and companies. Patrick was a seasoned investment banker before venturing into the Oil and Gas industry where he has made indelible mark with his innovative and dynamic manner of delivering jobs. Presently he is the co-founder and Managing Director of Icren Services Ltd, an Engineering and Environmental Servicing company with expertise in Oil-spill Response and Remediation, Waste Management, Procurement, Project Management, Training and Development.  He is also the Managing Director of MD Mart Nigeria Ltd, a major distributor to high profile producers of house-hold confectioneries.

Endurance Ukoyo is the CEO & President of Thekan Services Company Limited Nigeria; A parent company that birthed Thekan Services and Supply Company LLC USA. He’s a born marketer and understands the rudiments of supply chain management. Since 1996 when the company began operations in Lagos Nigeria, Thekan has become a leader in global supply chain management focusing mainly in the oil and gas sector. In 2007, Mr. Ukoyo moved the Headquarters of the company to the United States as part of an overhaul strategy to reposition the firm to meet global standards in acquisition and supply chain management as well as manufacturing. An American citizen now and also An alumnus of one of Nigeria’s pre-eminent Universities, Lagos State University where he graduated with an MBA in Business & Human Resource Management (MBA); however, his undergraduate degree is in Sociology & Anthropology obtained from University of Uyo in Nigeria’s South South region. He has constantly propagated the ideals of good corporate governance in doing business in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. As CEO, Mr Endurance has chaired in many capacities like collaborate with Foreign Direct Investment unit (FDI) government of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria in initiating & establishing a modular refinery with his partners CESCO North Am erica. He is a great achiever and philanthropist. Currently building a health center to alleviate poor medical infrastructure in his place of birth Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria.

Driven by our mission of “shaping Nigeria together,” Emerging Nigeria the initiators of the Nigerian National Legacy Awards is a nonpartisan organization that galvanizes leadership and engagement in Nigeria , in partnership with allies and partners to shape solutions to challenges bedeveiling us as a Nation.

The Nigerian National Legacy Awards honors individuals for their achievements in the fields of politics , military, business,community service and artistic leadership. These luminaries have made exceptional and distinctive contributions to Nigeria and across the world .

Answer: Due to the current epidemic (Covid-19)  ravaging globally,  there shall be no converging (awards dinner)  for the Nigerian National Legacy Awards till further notice as our organization will conduct a formal presentation of award plaques to recipients at a location of their (Recipient ) choice and photos published on all our media platforms

Answer : Your entry document consists ofapplicant’s citation and a letter of support addressing applicants contribution to the nation.

Answer: It costs only the applicants credibility to enter.

Answer : There is no limit on the number of entries you may submit. However , you should avoid duplicating entries across multiple categories, tailoring the entry specifically to the criteria of the category you are entering.

Answer: The main component of your entry is the entry document. All key information listed in the criteria for the category need be in the entry document and not in the supporting material.

Supporting material is optional and may be submitted in addition to the entry document . It should be used to illustrate /demonstrate what is in the entry document.

Supporting materials may include but is not limited to : Photographs , testimonials, graphs/data, videos (Please send USB stick), hard copies of any printed material( e.g brochures ) Whilst supporting material is Important and helpful to the judges.

Answer : In terms of entries, once your entry is submitted, you may withdraw it until the closing date.  In terms of table and seatbookings at the awards ceremony , written cancellations received within 2 weeks  prior to the event will be accepted and a refund of 90% of the booking charge will be made.

Answer:  Once you have submitted your entries they will be processed by the awards jury council (AJC) and the Honours and Awards Committee ( HAC) , then sent to the Award Governing Council to approve of entrant’sNomination for the awards .

 

Answer : After undergoing a merit based evaluation process by the AJC and HAC and pulling majority votes in his or her award category .

Answer : Members of the Nigerian public as the voting process is made open to all for fairness and transparency.

Answer. The AJC and HAC are made up of an  array of top notch members of the academia, clergy, leading  business executives ,select few ofprevious NNLA  recipients, the press and a host of arrow head professionals.
